Why choose a food tour:
Firstly I have to say how much my partner Nicko and I love food tours! It’s a perfect way to explore a new place through it’s cuisine. So far we have been on ones in Milano (Italy), Seville (Spain), New York (USA) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
First of all you try so many new dishes you didn’t know about and the local guide takes you to the best places.
Second you explore the different neighborhoods accompanied by a local guide, who provides you with a better understanding of the place you’re visiting. It might feel overwhelming to navigate a new country, which makes it even nicer to be guided around and get a lot of tips from a local.
We always try to do the food tour in the beginning of a trip, so we know what to eat for the remainder of our visit and to obtain other local tips for the rest of our stay in the country.
Furthermore it is a great way to learn more about a country’s culture, traditions, history and customs.

Our personal experience – Tasting of Kuala Lumpur with a local guide on a private street food tour:
This is our personal experiences and opinions that are expressed here.
We did this Malaysian street food tour in Kuala Lumpur with a lovely guide, who ended up being our guide on all the tours we did in Malaysia. You felt he was passionate about teaching us about the food and history of the places we went.
Our local guide taught us a lot of cool and interesting facts about the neighborhood and Malaysia as a country, while walking around to the different street food stands and markets. A total of 10 stops with tasty treats.
Be aware the stops might look different from tour to tour. They consider allergies and special food requests as well. But one thing is sure, you’re going to try some of the best street food in Kuala Lumpur and you will eat like a local. We had street food we never would have tried by ourselves, because we would perhaps fear stomach issues or likewise – We had no problems after the tour!

It was such a nice food tour! The best part was the local guide who made sure we tried a lot of new street foods we wouldn’t have tried by ourselves. We learned what to eat in Kuala Lumpur. It was such a great way to be introduced to new dishes and in general to the culturally diverse flavors of Malaysian cuisine. Especially the dish Roti Canai was one of my favorites, which we had multiple times during our stay. I highly recommend you to try it when you visit Malaysia.
